The fashion for industrial design is now being phased out in favour of a more comfortable style of furniture. Part of this transition is seeing metal frames with rough and ready industrial finishes transform into a more elegant and even decadent style.
Thin metal frames on both chairs and tables in decadent colours including brass, gold and rose gold finishes are on the rise. The metal legs often go hand in hand with velvet upholstery in rich gemstone colours, terracotta and Millennial pinks, rather than a hard wooden seat or muted leather shades.

We're calling this the Gatsby trend, a contemporary take on the jazz age. The gleaming gold or brass metal legs are in keeping with the decadent feel of the era while evoking memories of golden art deco flourishes or art nouveau metalwork and matching the popular brass lights and fixtures of this time.

Brass touches are a predominant feature of this award-winning design, from the bar shelving and rail, to the lighting orbs and banquettes so it's only right that the Strike Barstools should have a brass finish to match. The Strike Barstool was a bestselling product in 2017 showing the popularity of the trend of thin metal legs on chairs, particularly barstools.

Pearl gold metallic touches feature heavily throughout this restaurant, from the suspended tubular lights to banquettes and table bases. As an interesting variation on the trend, the Tonella Lounge Chairs have a thin cantilever cage base also finished in pearl gold.
