Our Top Hospitality Furniture Products of 2018

morph-dining-chair.jpg

Our sales and account managers pick their favourite product of the year, from new chairs and new table top materials to timeless designs, because classics never die.

2018 Furniture Trends

In our Top 10 Hospitality Furniture Products blog last year we predicted a 'revival of chrome, copper and rose gold, more metal frames and capped feet, and a continuation of retro designs in velvet'.  While chrome and rose gold didn't overtake brass as the most popular metal finish, we've pretty much nailed it on every other count. Big, comfortable chairs in velvet, fully upholstered armchairs and large padded lounge chairs feature heavily in our picks below, as do metal frames in various shades.

Baron Lounge Chair

My choice is the Baron Lounge Chair. I fell in love with it at Everyman Cinema Crystal Palace. It's elegant in form, timeless and petite, perfect for a hotel bedroom, lounge or lobby area. It's been undervalued so far and deserves some attention.

Jazz Armchair

Jazz Armchair

I would choose the Jazz armchair, I think it is an elegant and modern chair as well as very comfortable, I like the roundy back and I love the sample we have in the showroom in brass finish and the fabric looks great on it.

14 Side Chair

14 Side Chair

My pick is the classic Thonet 214 Chair. It initiated the history of modern furniture. The basis was a new technique – the bending of solid wood – that Michael Thonet developed and perfected during the 1850s, and it was the first time serial furniture production was possible. Added was an ingenious distribution model: 36 disassembled chairs could be packed into a one cubic metre box, shipped throughout the world, and then assembled on site. With its clear, reduced aesthetics this classic has been placed in the most diverse environments for more than 150 years.  Our 14 Side Chair is a great example of this classic bentwood technique and has been specified in a wide number of projects this year.

elle-lounge-chair-mackenzie

Elle Lounge Chair

Mine would be the Elle Lounge Chair. We just received a showroom sample; it's tasteful and high quality. The chair is also extremely comfortable to the point where you could curl up and take a snooze. Perfect for hotels and lounges.

Komondoro Lounge Chair

Komondoro Lounge Chair

Mine would be the Komondoro. Mid-century, velvet, fringes... the whole party! Fusion DNA chose the perfect fabric when they specified it for the Everyman Crystal Palace. Florika, Velvet Onyx by House of Hackney is a rich busy botanical velvet which feels so luxurious when combined with black fringe. Doesn't it look great?

Loafer Armchair

Loafer Armchair

I love the Loafer Armchair- for its modern take on an Art Deco classic design!

lana-lounge-chair-ines

Lana Lounge Chair

The Lana A975 Lounge Chair is my favourite; playing with the right patterns it looks sweet and cozy - a little lounge chair perfect for lobby areas, hotels and as a bedroom chair.

Ginger Side Chair

Ginger Side Chair

Woven chairs have been popular this year and the Ginger is the perfect blend of a contemporary wooden frame with a traditional straw seat. I also love that way the tapered legs make the chair look really slender and elegant while at the same time it's a solid chair which is even stackable.

Amy Barstool

Amy Barstool

Mine product of 2018 is the Amy Barstool... I love the sample we have in our showroom, it's very elegant, comfy and light. We've done lots of really nice projects with this chair in 2018 too, from hotels to all-day cafes, it's a very versatile chair.

Lava Stone Table Top

Lava Stone Table Top

I really loved the Lava tops from this year. I think it is a brilliant discovery and even though we don't have any orders/projects yet, I think they are the best product this year. They are scratch and stain proof, they look cool and they are different from anything else we currently sell. Plus they come in a wide range of different designs.

cairo-pouf-james

Cairo Pouf

It's been a big year for poufs. They're versatile seating options with great acoustic properties and they offer a great splash of texture or colour. This is the Cairo Pouf, just one of the bespoke stools we've had made this year.

Frantz Armchair

Frantz Armchair

I love this modern reinvention of a classic cane chair. Cane has experienced a revival this year and the Frantz range is a great example of classic materials used in new ways. Check out the Frantz Barstool too.

Moon Lounge Chair

Moon Lounge Chair

I love its beautifully large, pillow-like shape, you can really relax and unwind in it, so it's great for any spaces where you want to create a chilled atmosphere, like a hotel lobby or members' lounge.

Morph Dining Chair

Morph Dining Chair

The Morph is an example of a good design, and quality materials - the frame comes in either oak or American walnut and the fully upholstered shell is extremely comfortable. This year we installed the Morph in the hospitality suite of a big name sports stadium and it works really well.

Santo Barstool

Santo Barstool

The Santo Barstool is beautifully elegant, and when finished in a sumptuous velvet is the perfect stool to be seated on whilst sipping a martini in style.

Versital Table Top

Versital Table Top

Versital Table Tops are definitely my pick of the year. As well as looking good they have so many benefits - waterproof, easy to clean, stain resistant and scratch resistant - to name a few. There's a huge choice of finishes from natural looking marble and granite as well as RAL colours & sparkle surfaces. The resin tops can also be combined with brass edging.

2019 Furniture Trends

For 2019 we expect more revivals of retro classics like the Tribeca Barstool, more new materials being used as table tops like our Versital Table Tops, and an increase of chairs with pedestal bases like the Charlotte Lounge Chair.  Stone tables are showing no signs of slowing and it looks like Silestone, in particular, is going to be having a particularly good year ahead.
