roll-chair-das-haus-1

Roll Chair

Roll was unveiled at imm as part of the Das Haus exposition that showcased the open Mediterranean way of life. An elegant and minimalist contemporary design, inspired by the leg presses that can be found in a gym, this original design rejects the main role of these machines instead offering rest to those who need a calm pause. Its unusual silhouette turns a common industrial object into a work of art, even more evident if stacked, as it creates a kind of sculpture.

More details about Roll will be unveiled at Salone del Mobile later this year.

armadillo

Armadillo Lounge Chair

Armadillo was also unveiled at Das Haus. From the design team behind the Nautica Swing Chair also on display at the show, Armadillo features rounded geometry and smooth curves like its swinging predecessor. Made of peeled and tinted natural rattan it is a reinterpretation of the papasan bowl chairs that became so popular in the middle of the last century. Rattan itself has been a prevalent material throughout this year’s show, see pages 8-9 for more cane & rattan furniture.
